FIXIN' 2 EAT

Freelance | Brand Identity Concept | 2022

Back in early 2022, some former restaurateur pals reached out and asked if I’d help them dream up a brand identity for a modern, quick-service Meat + Two restaurant focused on good ol’ Southern home cookin’. The concept? Fixin’ 2 Eat.

After just a couple of meetings, I laid out my process and shared three distinct mood boards—each with its own vibe and tone—to help us find the right creative direction. That helped set some clear guardrails for the brand.

We landed on a mostly black-and-white palette with bold, LOUD pops of color—imagine Apple’s clean aesthetic with Jack Black’s energy. The typography was inspired by those classic Hatch Show Print posters—big, confident, exaggerated letterforms that really stand out.

For food photography (just inspiration for now), I suggested going ultra-vibrant and saturated—shots that practically let you taste the flavor.

In the end, the team loved the direction and still hopes to bring it to life someday. Until then, enjoy this concept—it was a fun one to cook up.
